THANKSGIVING SHARING
Another Great Year!

Thanksgiving Sharing 2015
Optimists, Scouts, Schools Join to Give Thanks
“Thanks to all of the help we received, this year we were able to enhance Thanksgiving for forty-two families,” Venus Sanford proudly announced.
As the Coronado Optimist Club’s project chair, she has watched the number of families more than quadruple since their original goal in 2013 of helping ten families at Thanksgiving.
“Michelle Bane, who’s both the social worker at Bernalillo Middle School and a Pack 708 Cub Scout Mom, stepped up to help us identify participating families,” said Ms. Sanford.
Parent Liaison Holly Willie at Algodones Elementary School facilitated fifteen families having a better Thanksgiving. At Bernalillo Elementary School Counselor Maha Small included thirteen families. Eric Tiger, the counselor for La Escuelita and Carroll Elementary, helped nine families. School Counselor Brenda Montoya at Bernalillo Middle School added five families to the list for the Coronado Optimist Club.
This past month, Cub Master David Gardner and Pack 708 were instrumental in decorating and distributing to five sites the yellow-papered boxes into which the community deposited their canned food donations. Community members made donations at the Placitas Library, Post Offices in Bernalillo and Placitas Post Office, Bernalillo Middle School and Bernalillo Elementary School.
